Italian Serie A

After failing to beat nine-man Inter two weeks ago, Sampdoria lost to out of form Parma last weekend and that was their first defeat after 6 games. They are now 4 points behind 4th placed Juventus, and 1 point behind Europa League place, which is their main goal this season.

Anyway, Luigi Del Neri has a decent chance to get his team back to winning habit as they host struggling Lazio today. Sampdoria has strong home record and are still unbeaten at home, so with enough motivation they should be strong enough to come out on top in this match against Lazio.

Del Neri is without suspended Ziegler, injured Castellazzi while Rossi is doubtful. Antonio Cassano is back in training and could make the bench, but is unlikely to feature today.

Lazio are still flirting with relegation, and after draw with Fiorentina last weekend, they are 17th in league. Their new coach Edoardo Reja will be looking for another away win after he managed to lead his side to 1-0 victory at Parma, while problems with their own fans mean their away games could be easier for the troubled team.

But Edoardo Reja's major problem is no in fans, but in his squad, as he could be without bunch of players for this clash. Bizzarri, Dabo, Dias, Meghni, Foggia and Manfredini are all out, and Biava, Firmani, Baronio and Rocchi are doubtful, which means that Lazio could be without up to 10 players today.

Sampdoria are surely better team between these two, and will look to take advantage of Lazio situation. Home odds are big value and not represent big difference between two teams, so I recommend medium to high stakes on Sampdoria.
