Italian Serie A

Chievo ended their run of 4 games without win with a win against Atalanta last weekend. They are playing out of pressure these days, as they are far away from both relegation threatened teams and European competitions spots.

Win against Atalanta should give wings to Flying Donkeys, so they should be up for the fight today against Cagliari. Point here and there will make the end of the season easier for them, and on the other hand losing points at home could mean troubles when the final rounds come.

Chievo will be without injured Moro and Abbruscato, suspended Rigoni and Morero, and possibly without Mantovani, Sorrentino and Yepes.

Cagliari comes to this match after defeat against Udinese, and will look for a better result today in order to keep their Europa League hopes alive. At the moment they are standing 8th in Serie A, just two points behind a Europa League spot and three points behind Juventus who is in 4th place.

Cagliari will travel to Verona without suspended Conti, injured Canini, Lupatelli, Pisano, Lopez, Dessena, Brkljaca, Marzoratti, while Astori, Lopez and Lazzari are doubts.

Although Cagliari have more to play for in this match, Chievo won't surrender easily, especially at home. Cagliari lost half of their away games this season, and are without win in Verona against Chievo in last five games, so I don't think they can take much from this match. Chievo win.
