 Barclays Premier League
Hull City and Birmingham City are coming to this match after painful defeats last weekend – Hull were heavily beaten by Sunderland at Stadium of Light (1-4), while Birmingham lost in city derby against Aston Villa (0-1). Both sides managed one win so far, with one draw and three defeats, and look like evenly matched sides on the paper.
Hull’s striker Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink could make his first start for his new club, and Dean Marney could be back after knee injury.
Birmingham are much bigger troubles, with James McFadden and Franck Quedrue the newest additions to their already long injury list.
Betting wise, this match should be left alone. Hull are defensively out of order this season, and on the other side Birmingham struggled to find goals so far. Their scoring troubles won’t be eased with absence of McFadden, so I don’t know where the goals will come from for Birmingham today. Under 2.5 goals looks like logical bet here, but prices are too poor - even 1.70 at betfair is not worth a gamble.
