Aston Villa vs Portsmouth

After opening round defeat at home against Wigan, Aston Villa recorded three straight wins in English Premier League – stunning 1-3 win at Anfield against Liverpool, 2-0 at home against Fulham, and latest one came in local derby against Birmingham last weekend.

And while Villa are enjoying their best start in last 10 seasons, Portsmouth are in big troubles. They lost all five league games they played so far, and with one more defeat they would level Leicester’s 6 out of 6 defeats record, the worst start in English top-flight football.

Good news for Pompey fans are coming from their new owner Al Fahim, but even if he gives manager Paul Hart money for new players, they will have to wait for a while to see new faces coming to Fratton Park.

Aston Villa boss Martin O’Neill will be definitely without Bouma and Davies, while Luke Young and Carew could make the squad after recovering from injuries.

Another missing player for the home side will be Nigel Reo-Coker, who was sent off after altercation with his boss.

Pompey boss Paul Hart is still without Finnan, Diop, Hreidarsson and Primus, probably without Dindane too.

While everything points to an easy win for Aston Villa tomorrow, price is far from being acceptable (1.44 at Blue Square).  Stranger things happened in football, and Portsmouth priced at 9/1 is big price. Aston Villa struggled with Pompey in last couple of seasons, and I’m not sure they will enjoy the pressure of red hot favorites tomorrow.

If you think Portsmouth are capable of making an upset tomorrow, the best price is at bet365, Betinternet and Boylesports.
