Sevilla vs Mallorca

SevillaReal MallorcaSevilla are losing their touch in decisive moments of the season and despite they are still third, Champions League football next year is not secured yet. With all Valencia, Atletico Madrid, Villareal, and even Deportivo La Coruna pushing hard for top spots these days, Sevilla will have to turn things around to achieve their main goal.

Sevilla are on awful run at the moment. They suffered 4 defeats in last 6 rounds, and although three of those four defeats came against Barcelona, Real Madrid and Valencia, confidence is something that was definitely lost in this period.

They probably restored some of confidence lost in last few weeks by beating Villareal away from home in last round. That win was absolutely fantastic result for them after losing four games in a row, and we’ll see if this triumph is start of uptrend.

Mallorca were one of the main relegation candidates at the beginning of the season following departure of few important players from last season, but as season is coming to an end they are looking better and better. They have already mathematically secured their top-flight status for next season and in four remaining fixtures they will play without any pressure.

In last six rounds Mallorca managed four wins, and they are coming to this match in much better mood than Sevilla.

Team news

Sevilla are missing few players. Navarro and Konko are suspended for this match, while Chevanton, Acosta and Fazio are already sidelined for a while.

Mallorca are in full strength, and have both Castro and Ayoze back after suspensions.

Betting verdict

Odds in this match are completely wrong and unrealistic. I agree that Mallorca is not in situation to push hard, and that Sevilla have enough to play for in this match, but I really don’t expect in-form Mallorca to just come to Sevilla and give away three points. They are on great run, much better than hosts, and with confidence high and pressure off, they can harm Sevilla badly in this match.
