Tottenham vs Aston Villa

Saturday, 06 February 2010 08:36

Tottenham HotspurTottenham and Aston Villa are two teams fighting for Champions League football next season and we should see great match tonight. Tottenham Hotspur are 4th at the moment, one point better than 5th placed Liverpool and with two points more than their tonight's guests from Birmingham.

Although 4th at the moment, Spurs are not firing on all cilyndres lately. They managed to win only one league match in 2010, while in FA Cup they had to play return match against League One side Leeds, after being held to 2-2 draw at White Hart Lane. Still, with only one league defeat in last 6 games Harry Redknapp's side is still in decent position, but with bunch of teams decreasing the gap behind them.

Aston Villa managed to win this fixture last season, and according to their decent away for they are not without chances this year too. They won their last two road games, and generally were doing well away from Villa Park this season.

Harry Redknapp has several players out injured, including Lennon, Cudicini, Woodgate and Assou-Ekotto, while his couterpart Martin O'Neill's major worry is Carew, who faces late fitness test.

Both Sours and Villa are playing attractive and open football, and despite they weren't so dangersou in front of goal in last couple of (league) games, I would expect to see a few goals tonight.

On 1x2 market I would pick Spurs win with a gun pointed in my head, but this one can go either way I think.
